Mil.huanqiu.com says in its report yesterday “China has made breakthrough in strategic new material graphene” that the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) holds a ceremony in Beijing to announce and sign its program for graphene scientific and technological development and industry.

The report regards graphene as a revolutionary new strategic material as it is the thinnest and strongest known matrial with the best stiffness, strength, fatigue resistance, electrical conductivity and coefficient of heat transfer and low linear expansion coefficient.

Titanium alloy strengthened with graphene is used in China’s hypersonic flying vehicle while aluminium alloy strengthened with it has been used in aircrafts. Graphene strengthened material is used in C919 airliner’s nose, fuselage and wings to reduce their weight and increase their strength.
